FESTIVAL
ALIVE

In the busiest streets of the world's main cities, many artists use their bodies as a support for expression, remaining motionless for long periods of time; It is a phenomenon that has caused a furor in recent years and has come to be called "living statues" or "human monuments". 

 

In the Dominican Republic this arte is increasingly visible and in demand,  thanks to the multiplicity that the implementation of this project has generated.

 

FESTEVIVAS is a self-managed and itinerant public art project thatintegrates two components:

  1. TRAINING:WORKSHOP “INTELLIGENT BODY DILATION”

  2. RECREATIONAL-CULTURAL ACTIVITY:“INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF LIVING STATUES”

It has the firm intention of positively influencing the use of the public spaces, as well as providing a tool to improve the quality of life of its performers.

 

As a self-management project, we are a non-profit artistic collective that for its development must have the support of the public, the participating artists as well as public and private, national or international institutions linked to the development of life in through art and cultural activities.

GOALS
  1. Promote and increase the good use of public spaces.

  2. Create a collective exhibition space, so that artists can express themselves freely with respect, quality and commitment 

  3. Recognize the quality of the artistic work of the participants who present their proposals; and also,

  4. Strengthen human and social development through art, through its two integral components: TheWorkshop "Expansion of the Intelligent Body"and the "International Festival of Living Statues".

"The continuity of alternative cultural projects guarantees the formation of individuals from a culture saturated by everyday habits, makes it possible to achieve that necessary social impact that awakens the sensitivity of the society in which we live.

FesteVivas joins the common interest of achieving achievements through self-management, as well as providing alternatives to a generation that grows and is unified by its different means of communication: sociocultural, technological and political".
